After breakfast we decided to try out both pools. The smaller of the two has fresh water in it and the larger one has sea water. The fresh water one was lovely with lots of empty sun loungers round it and many of them in the shade. It has shallow and deep ends and wasn't crowded.
After a spell in there and then drying off talking to a couple of women from the Birmingham area who were going back today we moved to the larger one. That was busier but we realised that people were starting to gather in the pool for the aqua aerobics session at 11.30am.
Elizabeth had a go at that while I watched and made sure we had a photographic record of the event!
The pool is the same depth all over and both pools have deadly tiles around them - lovely when dry and treacherous when wet. Both pools also have lifeguards from 10am to 6pm but you can swim at other times at your own risk.
And the temperature in each? Around 27 Celsius so both were a straight 'walk-in' job.
Having both said we would eat nothing at lunch, we each had a snack from the hotel bar plus the obligatory beer, followed by the second siesta afternoon in a row.
We've finally met the rep - an English woman who lives here and she said that the local car hire firm they suggest will give us 3 days for the price of 2, so we think the pull of the ride up to Teide will once again, be too much to resist and we will hire a car! Where we'll park it round here is another matter!
